MLB Picks
Friday June 3rd
Brewers over Phillies  Jimmy Nelson has three losses this year, 2 to the Cubs and 1 to the Giants. The Phillies are not in the same area code of the Cubbies and Giants.Vince Velasquez (V squared) was Mr. April with a 1.78 ERA. He has not been the same since ERA of 5.12. The Phillies have led a charmed life so far this season a bunch of one run victories. They will regress to the mean, time to fade the Phils. Take the Brewers Ace in this game.
Red Sox over Blue Jays  David Price has begun one of his annual ho streaks and now goes against a Blue Jays team he has beat twice in 2016. Throw in the fact he is 19-2 in his career in 23 starts prior to this season and you have to like your chances in this one. Marcus Stroman has pitched very well against the Red SOx prior to this season 4-0, 1.26 ERA and a .192 Batting Averag Against. In 2016 he has suffered 2 losses, giveing up 5 and 7 runs to the best offense in baseball. Take the Sox!
Mets over Marlins (POD pick of the Day)  Thor (Noah Syndergaard) lost earlier to the Marlins in 2016, 2-1. He was thrown out in his last start vs. the Dodgers for throwing at a batter and pitched in relief against the White Sox the other day. Expect the Thor to comeback with a vengeance and wield his hammer against the Fish on Friday. Tome Koehler actually has decent numbers against the Mets .214 BAA but somehow manages to lose 2-4. He can pitch his best and it will not matter vs. Thor and the Mets on Friday.
Saturday June 4th
Rays over Twins (POD Pick of the Day)  Mike Andriese was lights out in his first 3 starts for the Rays. The last 2 not so much in a couple no decisions that the Rays lost. Ervin Santana has not been a world beater for the Twins this year (twins are 1-8 in his 9 starts.) Take the Rays in this one.
Rangers over Mariners  Martin Perez had a rough April but bounced back with a solid May. He had only one start in May were he gave up more than 3 runs (5/18 Oakland 4 runs). Nate Karns has been great for the M’s this year (8-2 in games he pitches) but he allows a lot of baserunners which can be dangerous when you pitch in Texas. Nate Karns will pay for all those base runners take the Rangers in this one.
Sunday June 5th
Pirates over Angels This is your back to back special. Jhoulys Chacin just threw a 1 run, 10 K complete game win. He will not pitch back to back great games. Gerrit Cole just lost his last start to the Marlins. He will not have back to back losses. Take the Pirates and Gerrit Cole.
Cubs over D-Backs (POD Pick of the Day)  The Cubs lost a Jake Arrieta game for the first time all season, not his fault he is still 9-0. The Cubs will not lose back to back starts by their ace especially against Patrick Corbin. Take the Cubbies.
